"Extra! Extra! Read all about it:
From way up north comes the great news: Scandinavia has had it’s first stamping convention ever! Small, but oh, so significant!
The northern part of the hemisphere is farely new to the wonders of stamping. Sure enough, there are avid stampers, who have caught the bug from overseas. But they have felt so alone, and all by themselves.
– My neighbour and I have been stamping for more than ten years, but we honestly thought were the only ones, we did not know others as crazy as us, says Susie Solberg of Brumunddal, Norway. Susie is canadian by birth and norwegian by marriage, and discovered stamping through her canadian sister in law. – We had to buy all our stamps overseas, there were virtually no stamp stores in our country. You might be lucky and stumble across a a few – and very expensive - rubber stamps in speciality stores – but they were few and far between.
But now things are happening. Thanks to Elisabeth Lilja of InkyWings who formed the yahoogroup rubberstampsnack last year the scattered stampers have found each other. Needless to say that rubberstampsnack has been a life saver! In just a few months the number of members grew from one to more than fifty, who share ideas, and tips, and of course keep each other up to date on where to buy stamps in Scandinavia.
At Midsummer Elisabeth invited rubberstampers to visit her in Rälta, Sweden, where she lives. Rälta is a small rural community of 80 people. Fifteen stampers came, from Norway and Sweden."
Nu ska jag fortsätta leta efter det jag egentligen letade efter. Ha det gott!
